::UNITED BIBLE STUDIES::
The entrancing psych/folk/improv of the United Bible Studies collective www.desertedvillage.com shows equal love for the unadorned beauty of Shirley Collins and Vashti Bunyan, the electrifried takes of the Incredible String Band, and the darker work of Current 93 and Coil. Sparse folk mixes with a melodic take on free improv, and tales of loss and pagan longing abound. They’ve released 10 albums on labels like Ruralfaune, Barl Fire, Foxglove, and their own Deserted Village. This tour will be their first live appearances in the US.

::SHARRON KRAUS::
Twisted folk songs for the new millennium. Her own compositions stand tall beside age-old traditionals from England and Appalachia, and she performs both with a total mastery of the form. Since 2001 she has released five albums on Durtro Jnana, Bo’ Weavil, and Camera Obscura, and has toured extensively in the UK and USA.

::ENUMCLAW::
New solo project from Norm Fetter of Niagara Falls, and formerly of Golden Ball, mixes free electronic improv with field recordings and live sampling. Deep meditative vibes.

Tathagatta is NOW!

tathagatta

So, so excited for this one! After months of work, we are pleased to bring you this lovely cdr set. Sam and I screened these last weekend, and they really came out beautifully. This is a 2 cdr set. Disc one is titled DNA, disc two is RNA, and both are about one hour each of totalnowhealingdronequarkspiralsynthomness. We think they work well together. The sounds contained herein were recorded as part of the Sweet 69 music marathon which happened last year at Chronic Town in State College, PA. It was an amazing 69 hour continuous music marathon, and Tathagatta played for 10 straight hours!!! I’m serious. Perfect for baby making, and/or yoga.

Pick it up in the Shoppe.

Here are two excerpts again…

“Wonderful Smoke Filled Music”

Winter’s over, if you want it. This has been up for a bit now, but I just noticed some nice words over at ye olde Terrascope Online, about the last Niagara Falls album, “Plays Spiral Isles.” Says the revered website,

“Niagara Falls offer three tracks of wonderful smoke filled music, the second of which ‘Acid Of Ants’ is a tense scuttle of noise that creeps under the skin like that itch you just cannot reach. The third piece ‘Morning Mold’ is a much slower track, the sound of space debris floating endlessly across the universe, to be finally sucked into a dying sun.”

We thank you very much.

We have an exciting new project cooking up at the Honeymoon HQ.  Tathagatta (Taht-ahgahta) is Sam Cusumano, Erich Breimhurst, and Norm Fetter pulsing out totalnowhealingdronequarkspiralsynthomness.  We’re putting the finishing touches on a limited edition 2 disc cdr that will be available in the coming months.  YES, that’s 2 discs, one hour long track on each.  Lay back, defocus, and ascend into two excerpts from Tathagatta…

Shop Updates

not yeti

I’ve been reworking ye olde Honeymoon Music Shoprite Emporium, and it’s now up and running, and fully functional. You’ll find handy pages for each release with pertinent info.

Also just added to the Distro section is a fine, fine disc from the Portland, OR based band Not Yeti, which contains our own Jason Schmidt of Stainless Japan. The band released this disc under their own Spiritual Invertebrate imprint, and it’s quite a wonderful first release. You can pick one up right over here.

Happy new year lovers, and sincere wishes for a prosperous 2008 to you all! In lieu of making a “Best of 2007″ list, I’ve been involved in a mass copying and pasting ritual here on the Honeymoon site. Going back through all the old news posts from before we were all up in the web 2.0 business is bringing back some deep, vintage memories. I’m still looking for the news items from June 2004- November 2005, but here are some choice entries from what’s been unearthed so far.

New Year’s Eve…2004

Backyard Honeymoon Compound percussive fire action back on New Year’s Eve 2004. Wow, three years ago. Carrie filmed this with a hand-held still camera, check that vintage quality! Thanks Carrie! Cole’s in there, and so is Tom, Jeff, Nat, Jason. Who else was there?

Winter Renovations et Enumclaw vids

Deep in the process of some retooling around here. Hopefully adding some features, deleting the lame ones. It’s all happening very much in real time, which means you can expect non-fatal accidents, gaper delays, and errors of all kinds, as a result of my limited css, etc knowledge. The site’s been hibernating a bit, and so have we, but promise to get back in the saddle soon. Oh, I found these Enumclaw vids for yr pretty eyes. Will you enjoy them, please?
